Mississippi is home to 40 Title IV degree-granting institutions. Title IV schools have at least five things in common. They grant an associate's degree or higher, they offer a program of at least 300 clock hours in length, they have accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, they have been in business for at least two years, and they have signed a participation agreement with the Department. Once they have been met, the school becomes eligible for Title IV financial aid programs, which makes them more accessible to students with financial need.
